Srisailam Inflows Continue To Rise
Water inflows into the Srisailam Reservoir have increased significantly following heavy upstream rainfall, with a large volume of floodwater reaching the project from the Jurala Project.
According to the latest official data, the reservoir is receiving an inflow of 1,43,615 cusecs, while the outflow remains nil as no water is currently being released downstream. Authorities are closely monitoring the inflow situation and reservoir levels.
The Full Reservoir Level (FRL) of Srisailam stands at 885 feet, while the current water level has reached 830.70 feet. The reservoir's full storage capacity is 215.8070 TMC, whereas the present storage is 50.2658 TMC.
Officials said that power generation has not yet commenced at both the Right Bank and Left Bank Hydroelectric Power Stations. The decision to begin hydel power generation or release water will depend on further increases in inflows and operational requirements.
With rainfall continuing in the upstream catchment areas, authorities are maintaining constant surveillance over the reservoir and are expected to take appropriate operational decisions based on water availability and safety considerations.
