Apple Hikes MacBook, iPad Prices
Apple has significantly increased the prices of several MacBook and iPad models in India, with some premium devices becoming costlier by as much as ₹1 lakh. The revised prices have come into effect across the company's official sales channels and are expected to impact students, professionals, and businesses planning to purchase Apple devices.
Among the major revisions, the MacBook Air has become costlier by ₹30,000 to ₹35,000 depending on the configuration, while the 14-inch MacBook Pro has witnessed the steepest increase of up to ₹1 lakh. The student-oriented MacBook Neo has also seen a price hike of around ₹10,000. Several iPad models have also recorded notable price increases.
According to industry reports, Apple attributed the revision to the rising global cost of memory and storage components, driven by growing demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure and advanced semiconductor technology. The company has adjusted prices in line with increasing production costs while maintaining its existing product lineup.
Despite the increase in MacBook and iPad prices, Apple has not announced any revision in iPhone prices in India so far. Industry analysts believe the higher prices may temporarily affect demand, particularly among students and first-time buyers, while premium customers are expected to continue purchasing Apple's high-end devices.
