Prajwal Revanna Cell Search Raises Questions

A security controversy has erupted at Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in Bengaluru after a surprise inspection reportedly led to the recovery of several unauthorised items from the cell of former MP Prajwal Revanna, who is serving a sentence.

A Central Crime Branch (CCB) team reportedly conducted a sudden search at the prison amid concerns over security and alleged lapses by jail authorities.

According to the reported details, officials recovered an Android mobile phone, charger, pen drive and diary from Revanna's room. The presence of prohibited electronic devices inside the prison has raised questions about how the items entered the facility and whether security protocols were properly followed.

Following the incident, Revanna was reportedly shifted from a VIP cell to a regular barrack. A jail official was also suspended after being held responsible in connection with the security lapse.

Authorities are now investigating how the unauthorised items reached the prison and whether any prison personnel were involved in facilitating their entry.

The incident has triggered renewed concerns over the security arrangements at the central prison and the alleged special facilities available to high-profile inmates. Officials are expected to examine CCTV footage, prison records and other evidence as part of the investigation.
