Mandhana Leads India To Dominant T20 Win

India continued their impressive run in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 with a commanding 95-run victory over the Netherlands at Headingley on Wednesday. Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana starred with a brilliant 74, while Shafali Verma smashed 51 as India posted a record 209/5, their highest-ever total in Women's T20 World Cup history.

The opening pair put on 115 runs for the first wicket, giving India a flying start. Mandhana continued her excellent form after her match-winning performance against Pakistan, while captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Richa Ghosh and Deepti Sharma ensured a strong finish.

Chasing 210, the Netherlands struggled to maintain momentum despite a steady start. Captain Babette de Leede top-scored with 28, but regular wickets derailed the chase.

India’s bowlers dominated the second half of the match, with Shree Charani claiming 4/19 and Shafali Verma taking 3/20. The Netherlands collapsed from 96/4 to 114 all out in 17.3 overs.

With consecutive wins over Pakistan and the Netherlands, India moved to the top of Group 1 with four points and will next face the South Africa Women's Cricket Team at Old Trafford on Sunday.
