AP MLC Nominations Awaited Today
The Andhra Pradesh government has intensified efforts to fill the Governor's quota MLC (Legislative Council) vacancies, with an official announcement from Raj Bhavan expected later today.
According to political sources, several senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders are in the race for nomination. The prominent names being discussed include former minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao (Devineni Uma), Mantena Venkata Satyanarayana Raju, Varla Ramaiah, Srinivasulu Reddy, Kommalapati Sridhar, and Panabaka Lakshmi, among others.
The Governor's quota allows the nomination of individuals with distinguished contributions in fields such as literature, science, art, the cooperative movement, and social service, based on the recommendations of the state government.
Political circles are closely watching the selection process, as the nominations are expected to reflect the government's political and administrative priorities. While several names are under consideration, there has been no official confirmation regarding the final list.
