COVID Cases Rise In Kadapa

Fresh COVID-19 cases have raised concerns in YSR Kadapa district after six new infections were reported, days after two people from Kadapa and Rajampet died while undergoing treatment with COVID-like symptoms. The latest developments have prompted health authorities to strengthen surveillance and preparedness across the district.

According to officials, the six newly identified patients are being monitored, with necessary medical care being provided. Health teams have intensified field inspections and are conducting door-to-door surveys to identify people with fever, cough, or other respiratory symptoms. Residents have been advised to remain alert and seek medical attention if symptoms develop.

The recent deaths triggered public concern, although district health authorities earlier stated that the deceased had serious underlying health conditions. Samples were sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune, for further analysis to determine the exact cause and check for any new variant.

Hospitals in the district have also stepped up preparedness by ensuring the availability of oxygen support, ventilators, and isolation facilities. Officials said there is no need for panic but urged people to follow basic precautions, including maintaining hygiene, wearing masks in crowded places if required, and reporting symptoms early.

Health authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
