Rahul Gandhi Slams Education System
Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has strongly criticised the country's education system, saying it has deteriorated significantly and requires urgent reforms. Speaking on the recent student protests over alleged paper leaks, Rahul said the concerns raised by students were genuine and deserved to be addressed rather than suppressed.
He alleged that students who questioned the existing system were subjected to violence and intimidation. Rahul said he personally met the protesting youth and claimed that many of them were beaten and threatened for expressing their views.
The Congress leader also alleged that miscreants were sent to the homes of some protesters and claimed that a 15-year-old girl was allegedly forced to apologise, calling such actions unacceptable in a democratic society.
Expressing solidarity with the students, Rahul Gandhi said he was proud of young people who were fighting for the country's future. He stressed that transparency and accountability in examinations were essential to protect the aspirations of millions of students.
Demanding immediate action, Rahul urged the government to take effective steps to stop examination paper leaks and restore confidence in the education system. He said students should be heard and their rights safeguarded.
