High Court Orders Ranganath's Removal
The Telangana High Court has directed the state government to remove HYDRA Commissioner Ranganath from his post, observing that a senior officer holding the rank of Secretary should not disregard court orders.
The court expressed serious concern over the alleged non-compliance with its directives and stated that such conduct was unacceptable from a high-ranking government official. Emphasising the importance of upholding the rule of law, the High Court said court orders must be implemented without delay by all public authorities.
The bench directed the Chief Secretary to initiate the process of replacing Ranganath with an officer of the Inspector General (IG) rank. The court also instructed the government to ensure that the appointment is made in accordance with its directions.
The order comes amid judicial scrutiny of administrative functioning and compliance with court directives. Legal experts noted that the observations underline the accountability of senior officials in implementing judicial decisions.
The Telangana government is expected to take appropriate action based on the High Court's directions. Further proceedings in the matter are likely after the government submits a compliance report before the court.
