Congress Stages Protest Near PM
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, along with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and several Congress Members of Parliament, staged a protest near the Prime Minister's residence, demanding accountability from the Central government.
The protest was held against the alleged NEET examination paper leak, the reported police lathi-charge in Delhi, and what the Congress described as increasing suppression of democratic voices. During the demonstration, party leaders raised slogans demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and accused the government of authoritarian functioning.
Congress leaders alleged that the Centre had failed to protect the integrity of national examinations and criticised the handling of recent protests. They also condemned the alleged use of force against demonstrators, calling for justice and transparency.
Security was tightened in the area as police monitored the protest to maintain law and order. The demonstration witnessed the participation of several senior Congress leaders and MPs.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had not immediately responded to the allegations at the time of reporting. The protest comes amid heightened political exchanges between the ruling party and the opposition over examination-related issues and law-and-order concerns.
