YSRCP Woman Leader Attempts Suicide

YSRCP Ongole ST Cell president Prasanna allegedly attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills following an alleged assault and internal party dispute. She was rushed to RIMS Hospital, Ongole, where doctors are providing treatment. Her condition is being closely monitored.

The incident comes days after an alleged altercation during the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy birth anniversary programme held on July 8. According to reports, Prasanna was allegedly assaulted by YSRCP leaders inside the party office after she questioned them over an incident in which they reportedly stepped on her feet. The dispute escalated into a physical confrontation.

In a related development, Prasanna's son allegedly attacked YSRCP leader Shivakumar, claiming that his mother had been assaulted during the incident. Following the controversy, the Ongole YSRCP in-charge reportedly removed Prasanna from the party's official groups.

Before the suicide attempt, Prasanna recorded a selfie video alleging that she had faced injustice within the party and expressing distress over the treatment she received. The video has since circulated widely on social media.

Police are gathering details about the incident, while doctors at RIMS Hospital continue to monitor her health. Further action is expected based on the outcome of the medical treatment and the ongoing inquiry.
