Woman Attacks GHMC Worker
A sanitation worker was allegedly assaulted by a woman after objecting to garbage being dumped on a roadside in Alwyn Colony, Kukatpally, Hyderabad.
According to officials, a couple arrived on a motorcycle bearing registration number AP40 LQ 1896 and allegedly attempted to dump waste in front of an apartment in Alwyn Colony. When the sanitation worker requested them not to throw garbage on the roadside and to dispose of it properly, an argument reportedly broke out.
Enraged by the objection, the woman allegedly grabbed the sanitation worker by her hair, verbally abused her, and physically assaulted her in public. The incident reportedly caused panic among local residents, who condemned the attack on a civic worker performing her duty.
The victim later approached the police and lodged a formal complaint against the accused. Authorities have initiated legal proceedings based on the complaint.
Speaking on the incident, GHMC Deputy Commissioner Chamundeshwari confirmed that a police complaint had been filed and assured that strict legal action would be taken against those responsible. The incident has sparked outrage, with many demanding stronger protection for sanitation workers who often face abuse while carrying out their public service responsibilities.
