Ponnam Demands BJP's Clarification
Ponnam Prabhakar on Sunday demanded that the Bharatiya Janata Party respond to allegations of financial irregularities related to the Ram Mandir. Addressing a media conference in Husnabad, the minister alleged that funds collected in the name of Lord Ram and the temple project had been misused.
Prabhakar claimed the BJP sought votes using the Ram Temple issue and accused the party of exploiting religious sentiments for political gain. He urged the BJP and its Telangana leaders to clarify the allegations and apologise to the people if any wrongdoing had occurred.
The minister said his party respected Lord Ram and participated in religious activities, stressing that its criticism was directed at alleged corruption rather than faith. He also referred to the ongoing voter list revision exercise in Telangana, describing it as vital for protecting democracy.
Prabhakar urged officials, Booth Level Officers (BLOs), and political workers to ensure that every eligible voter is included in the electoral rolls. He said Congress leaders had conducted awareness and training programmes to support the revision process and called for the exercise to be completed successfully.
