Police Deny Tadipatri Protest
Tension prevailed in Tadipatri after police denied permission for protest programmes proposed by both the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). The YSRCP had called for a mass protest near the Gandhi statue in the town, prompting heightened security arrangements.
Police advised both parties to postpone their programmes, citing law and order concerns. Notices were served to former MLA Kethireddy Peddareddy, requesting compliance with the restrictions. However, Anantapur district YSRCP president Ananta Venkatarami Reddy reportedly refused to accept the notices issued by the police.
Following the developments, Ananta Venkatarami Reddy reached the YSRCP district office in Anantapur, where party workers also began gathering in support. Police personnel were deployed at the party office and surrounding areas to prevent any untoward incidents and maintain public order.
Authorities continued to monitor the situation closely as political activity intensified. Officials urged leaders and supporters of both parties to cooperate with the restrictions and avoid actions that could disturb peace. Additional security arrangements were made in sensitive locations to ensure law and order, while police remained on alert to prevent any escalation of tensions.
