Ramesh Hospitals Conducts ECMO Workshop

Ramesh Hospitals Learning Centre, in association with the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA), Vijayawada City Branch, conducted a Basic Hands-on ECMO Workshop for 30 doctors from various districts of Andhra Pradesh to enhance critical care expertise.

The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Pothineni Ramesh Babu, Managing Director of Ramesh Hospitals, and led by Dr. T. Mohan S. Maharaj, Senior Critical Care Specialist. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Dammalapati Pavan, Senior Cardiac Anaesthetist.

A team of six Critical Care Specialists and Perfusionists delivered practical training using a high-fidelity ECMO simulator and two ECMO machines. The sessions focused on ECMO management, patient monitoring, and advanced critical care procedures, enabling participants to gain valuable hands-on experience in handling life-support systems.

The participating doctors appreciated the comprehensive training and practical exposure offered during the workshop. Organisers said such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening the skills of healthcare professionals and expanding access to advanced critical care services across the state.

They added that continuous medical education and simulation-based training are essential to improving patient outcomes and preparing doctors to manage complex medical emergencies effectively.
