Nellore Rottela Panduga Begins

The five-day Rottela Panduga, a festival symbolising communal harmony and faith, began at the Bara Shaheed Dargah in Nellore on Friday. Thousands of devotees from across the country are expected to participate in the annual event, which is known for its unique tradition of exchanging rotis while offering prayers for the fulfilment of wishes.

The festival commenced with the Chandal Mouli ritual on the opening day. The Gandham ceremony will be held on Saturday, followed by the main Rottela Panduga on June 28, which is expected to attract the largest gathering of devotees.

The celebrations will continue with Tahleel Fateha on June 29, while the concluding ceremonies are scheduled for June 30. Authorities have made elaborate arrangements, including security, sanitation, drinking water, medical facilities, traffic management, and crowd control, to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival.

The Bara Shaheed Dargah, one of Nellore's most revered religious sites, witnesses lakhs of devotees every year irrespective of religion, making the festival a symbol of unity and brotherhood. District officials have appealed to pilgrims to cooperate with authorities and follow safety guidelines for a peaceful and hassle-free experience throughout the celebrations.
