Naidu Stresses Yoga and Cultural Heritage

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu called upon people to preserve India’s cultural values and pass them on to future generations while emphasizing the importance of yoga for physical and mental well-being. He was speaking at the Yogandhra programme organized by yoga guru Baba Ramdev at the historic Undavalli Caves near Amaravati on Friday.

The Chief Minister attended the event wearing a shirt bearing the Yogandhra logo and witnessed yoga demonstrations performed by Baba Ramdev and his disciples. Several advanced yoga postures, including Chakrasana, Vruschikasana, Mayurasana, and Hanumanasana, were showcased during the session.

Addressing the gathering, Naidu said he has known Baba Ramdev for over three decades and credited him with taking yoga to millions of people across the country. He stressed that while technology has become an essential part of modern life, it should be used responsibly and without addiction. He added that yoga and spirituality help maintain balance between the body and mind.

Naidu also noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has helped bring global recognition to yoga, with nearly 190 countries observing International Yoga Day. He highlighted the state’s efforts to promote yoga, natural farming, preventive healthcare, and environmental sustainability through initiatives such as Yogandhra and Sanjeevani.
