Lokesh Launches Temple Restoration Works

Andhra Pradesh Minister for HRD and IT Nara Lokesh on Friday launched the renovation and restoration works at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Temple located at the Diguva Sannidhi in Mangalagiri. The project, estimated at ₹6.3 crore, is being executed with funds from the Endowments Department to preserve the temple’s heritage and improve facilities for devotees.

Welcomed with Poorna Kumbham by temple priests and officials, Lokesh performed Bhoomi Puja for the construction of a new Yagashala and the reconstruction of the Vahanashala and Ganta Mandapam. He also inaugurated the restoration of the historic Sri Krishnadevaraya Mandapam, unveiled a commemorative plaque, inspected architectural models and participated in special religious rituals. Temple priests offered Vedic blessings and presented him with Teertha-Prasadam.

The minister instructed officials to prepare a comprehensive master plan for the temple’s long-term development, ensuring better amenities for devotees while preserving traditional architectural and religious practices. He directed that the restoration work should not disrupt regular darshan or temple rituals. Lokesh also inspected the temple Pushkarini and suggested measures for its maintenance. He later received petitions from devotees and interacted with them.

Endowments Commissioner K. Ramachandra Mohan, Temple Executive Officer Koganti Sunil Kumar, temple board members and other officials attended the programme.
