Lokesh Discusses Governance With Adhikari
Andhra Pradesh Minister for Human Resources Development and Information Technology Nara Lokesh held a courtesy meeting with West Bengal leader Suvendu Adhikari in Kolkata on Thursday, discussing governance, welfare delivery, digital transformation, and opportunities for inter-state cooperation.
During the meeting, Lokesh presented a Mangalagiri handloom shawl to Adhikari and briefed him on Andhra Pradesh’s “Speed of Doing Business” policy, which aims to attract investments through streamlined approvals and industry-friendly measures. He also explained the state’s transparent welfare delivery model that leverages technology and real-time monitoring systems to ensure benefits reach eligible beneficiaries efficiently.
The discussions also focused on the welfare initiatives being implemented in West Bengal. Lokesh expressed interest in promoting stronger administrative and cultural exchanges between the two states and highlighted the potential for collaboration in sectors such as fisheries, exports, and economic development.
He further requested the allocation of suitable land in West Bengal for the construction of a Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) temple. In return, he assured support for establishing a West Bengal Bhavan in Tirumala to facilitate pilgrims and visitors from the eastern state.
Adhikari responded positively to the proposals and welcomed the idea of greater cooperation. Both leaders agreed that stronger ties between Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal could contribute to development, cultural exchange, and improved governance practices in the future.
