Ex-IAS Officer’s Influence Sparks Buzz

A retired IAS officer has become the center of political discussion in Andhra Pradesh over his reported influence in both the previous YSRCP government and the current coalition administration led by N. Chandrababu Naidu. Secretariat circles claim the former bureaucrat, who was considered close to Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy during the previous regime, continues to hold significant influence despite retirement.

Political observers allege the officer’s administrative experience and strong connections with ruling leaders helped him remain powerful across governments. Critics within bureaucratic circles are reportedly questioning why a retired official is being given such importance in governance matters. Allegations of financial links with influential contractors and accusations of accumulating wealth during service have also resurfaced in political discussions, though no official evidence has been presented publicly.

The issue has triggered debate over the growing influence of retired bureaucrats in state administration and whether political leadership is depending too heavily on select former officials for key decisions.
