AP High Court Grants Relief to Kodali Nani
The Andhra Pradesh High Court granted interim relief to former minister by staying further proceedings in a case registered against him in Gudivada. The court also stayed the prosecution sanction granted by the state government and directed authorities not to take any coercive action against him until further orders.
The case dates back to February 2021, when the Model Code of Conduct for local body elections was in force. Kodali Nani was accused of making objectionable remarks against and former State Election Commissioner . Following a report from the State Election Commission to the Krishna district police, a case was registered against him on February 16, 2021, for alleged violation of the election code. The High Court's latest order restrains authorities from initiating any action against him until further proceedings in the matter.
