Two-Day Fan Park in Mangalagiri from June 5; Andhra Premier League Announced
Mangalagiri is set to host a two-day cricket Fan Park along with preparations for the Andhra Premier League, offering a major sporting attraction for fans in the region. Rajya Sabha Member Sana Satish Babu announced that the Fan Park will be organized near the APIIC building in Guntur district under the guidance of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The event will allow cricket enthusiasts to watch four Indian Premier League matches on a giant screen free of cost.
The matches scheduled for live screening include Delhi vs Punjab and Rajasthan vs Hyderabad on the first day, followed by Gujarat vs Chennai and Lucknow vs Kolkata on the second day. The initiative aims to provide fans with a stadium-like experience through live broadcast arrangements, which will also be telecast on Star Sports.
He said the programme has been made possible with the support of Minister Nara Lokesh and reflects the government’s focus on promoting sports culture in Andhra Pradesh. The Fan Park is expected to draw large crowds and create a festive atmosphere for cricket lovers.
Additionally, he announced that the Andhra Premier League will commence from June 5 at the Mangalagiri stadium, featuring strong participation from 120 teams. He added that efforts are underway to develop Mangalagiri as a comprehensive sports hub, encouraging youth participation and strengthening sports infrastructure in the region.
