Tension Escalates in Tadipatri

Tension gripped Tadipatri in Anantapur district on Friday after YSRCP leader Kethireddy Peddareddy staged a road protest alleging high-handedness by the police. Peddareddy sat on the road in protest, accusing the police of preventing party leaders and supporters from carrying out their activities.

Former MLAs Ananta Venkatarami Reddy and Kethireddy Visweswara Reddy attempted to reach the protest site to extend their support to Peddareddy. However, police stopped them en route, citing law and order concerns. In protest against the police action, both former legislators staged a sit-in on Court Road, demanding that they be allowed to proceed.

Police erected barricades at several locations and prevented YSRCP leaders and party workers from entering the protest venue. The restrictions led to heated arguments between party supporters and police personnel, further escalating tensions in the town.

A large police force was deployed across Tadipatri to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incidents. Traffic movement was affected in parts of the town as the protests continued.

The situation remained tense but under control, with police closely monitoring developments. Authorities urged political leaders and supporters to maintain peace and cooperate with law enforcement while ensuring that public order was not disrupted.
