President to Present Padma Awards
The prestigious Padma Awards ceremony will be held in New Delhi on Tuesday, with the President of India conferring the honours on distinguished personalities from various fields. During the event, 65 awards will be presented, including 2 Padma Vibhushan, 7 Padma Bhushan and 56 Padma Shri honours.
The Padma Awards are among India’s highest civilian awards and recognize exceptional contributions in fields such as art, literature, science, social service, public affairs, medicine and sports.
The Central Government had announced a total of 131 Padma Awards for the year on January 25. The remaining awardees will be honoured in subsequent ceremonies.
The event at Rashtrapati Bhavan is expected to witness the presence of dignitaries, award recipients and their family members. The awards celebrate individuals whose achievements have made a significant impact on society and the nation.
