Pawan Kalyan Begins Annual Deeksha
Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday began his annual Deeksha at Mangalagiri after offering special prayers to Sri Panakala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy. The spiritual observance, which he undertakes every year, starts in the month of Jyeshtha and concludes in Karthika.
As part of the ritual, Pawan Kalyan visited the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, where he offered silk garments to the deity and participated in special pujas. He also took part in the Ashtottara chanting of the 108 names of Lord Narasimha. Later, he proceeded to the hill temple of Sri Panakala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy and offered panakam and silk garments as naivedyam before performing special prayers.
The Deeksha is observed according to mantra upadesha received from his spiritual guru. During the period, Pawan Kalyan follows a disciplined spiritual routine that includes meditation, mantra chanting and the consumption of sattvic food. He continues to discharge his official responsibilities while maintaining simplicity in dress, often wearing sandalwood-coloured attire.
Temple priests welcomed him with traditional honours, offered Vedic blessings and presented teertha prasadam. He was received by temple authorities amid mangala vadyam. Several officials and devotees were present during the visit, which drew significant attention from worshippers at the temple premises.
