New Minister to Replace Atchannaidu

Srikakulam district is poised to receive another ministerial post as the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) prepares for a cabinet expansion. Party national president and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is reportedly finalizing the new lineup, with sources confirming that the expansion is imminent. Observers note that the current ministers largely belong to the Lokesh faction, reflecting careful consideration of loyalty, conduct, social factors, and political strengths.
TDP leader Nara Lokesh has reportedly signaled to senior party members and influencers that while new leaders will get opportunities, some existing ministers may have to step aside. Reliable sources indicate that Bendlal Ashok, Palla Srinivasarao, Maddipati Venkataraju, Vemireddy Prasanthi Reddy, and Konathala Ramakrishna are expected to be inducted into the cabinet, with the Chief Minister giving the green signal.
From Srikakulam, Kuna Ravikumar was in the race, but internal party dynamics and his assertive approach reportedly worked against him. In Srikakulam district, rumors suggest that current minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu may be replaced, with Bendlal Ashok likely to take the post.
Bendlal Ashok, a first-time candidate in 2014 from Ichchapuram, won by over 15,000 votes and is considered a disciplined, sincere, and humble leader. Being the son of senior TDP leader Bendlal Prakash and a doctor, Ashok enjoys significant credibility and respect across caste, religion, and party lines. Known for grassroots engagement, extensive padayatra before elections, and active constituency work, Ashok has consistently supported party workers and ensured fairness in local politics. His popularity was evident in the 2019 elections, where he won with a margin of over 40,000 votes, even as YSRCP swept most of the state.
With the coalition government completing nearly two years in office, speculation over cabinet reshuffles is intensifying. Political circles suggest major changes, hinting that several current ministers may be sidelined. Among those likely to be included in the new lineup are Palla Srinivasarao, Bendlal Ashok, Maddipati Venkataraju, Vemireddy Prasanthi Reddy, and Konathala Ramakrishna.
For Srikakulam, this likely means Bendlal Ashok replacing Kinjarapu Atchannaidu, who faces criticism over factionalism and family concentration of posts. Meanwhile, Kun Ravikumar’s assertive style is said to have cost him a ministerial berth, despite being in contention. The TDP leadership appears focused on balancing experience, loyalty, and regional representation in the upcoming cabinet.
