Naidu Promotes Yoga as a Way of Life
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday called upon people to embrace yoga as a way of life and contribute towards building a healthy and prosperous Andhra Pradesh. He was addressing the International Yoga Day celebrations organized under the “Yogandhra” initiative at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada.
The Chief Minister participated in yoga sessions led by renowned yoga guru Baba Ramdev. Wearing a special Yogandhra T-shirt, Chandrababu Naidu performed pranayama and various yoga asanas, including Anulom-Vilom breathing exercises, along with thousands of students, youth, and yoga enthusiasts who gathered at the venue.
Addressing the gathering, Naidu described the experience of practicing yoga with Baba Ramdev as memorable and inspiring. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting yoga on the global stage and enhancing India’s reputation through the ancient wellness tradition.
The Chief Minister said the state government has been conducting yoga programs across Andhra Pradesh with district-specific themes to encourage wider public participation. He added that Yogandhra activities are also being organized at major pilgrimage and tourist destinations to spread awareness about physical fitness, mental well-being, and healthy living.
Several ministers, including Nara Lokesh, Satya Kumar Yadav, Atchannaidu, and Kandula Durgesh, along with public representatives, participated in the celebrations.
