A recent initiative by Andhra Pradesh minister Nimmala Ramanayudu to travel by bicycle to the Secretariat has triggered widespread public discussion on austerity and responsible governance. The move, aimed at promoting fuel conservation and simplicity, received mixed reactions from citizens. While many praised the minister for encouraging sustainability, others questioned whether such symbolic gestures would bring lasting change among political leaders.
Public attention has now shifted to whether other ministers will adopt similar practices. Citizens argue that genuine reform requires accountability, consistency, and practical implementation rather than temporary displays
