Lokesh Launches Major Projects In Mangalagiri

HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh on Wednesday launched a series of major infrastructure and civic development projects in Mangalagiri, reaffirming his goal of transforming the constituency into a model region in Andhra Pradesh. Union Minister of State Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar joined several programmes.

Lokesh laid the foundation stone for the ₹142-crore Nidamarru Railway Over Bridge, which is expected to improve connectivity and reduce traffic congestion between Mangalagiri, Amaravati, Tadikonda and nearby villages. He also inaugurated the Kaja East Lake Park, a 17-acre recreational facility developed under CSR funding with walking tracks, an open gym, children's play areas and extensive greenery.

In another key initiative, he launched a ₹1,167-crore underground drainage project for the Mangalagiri-Tadepalli Municipal Corporation area. The project includes a 531-km drainage network, sewage treatment plants and lift stations aimed at improving sanitation infrastructure.

Lokesh also reviewed the modernised Vaikuntha Mahaprasthanam crematorium and assured continued focus on housing, urban infrastructure and welfare schemes. Defending the government's recruitment process, he stated that 16,000 teacher posts were filled within 150 days and promised further recruitment while stressing transparency and efficient governance.
