Lokesh Courts Shoeals Investment
Nara Lokesh met Lee Chiang-Gen, Chairman of Shoeals, in Seoul to discuss expanding the company's investment in Andhra Pradesh. During the meeting, Lokesh proposed the establishment of a Shoeals Research and Development (R&D) and Innovation Centre in the state to strengthen the footwear manufacturing ecosystem.
The minister also urged the company to accelerate work on its proposed ₹300-crore footwear manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh. Once operational, the facility is expected to generate employment for around 3,000 people, providing a significant boost to the state's industrial growth and job creation efforts.
Lokesh highlighted Andhra Pradesh's investor-friendly policies, modern infrastructure, and skilled workforce, encouraging Shoeals to use the state as its retail and distribution hub for the Indian market. He emphasized that the government is committed to providing all necessary support for the company's expansion plans.
Responding positively, Lee Chiang-Gen said Shoeals would seriously consider the Andhra Pradesh government's proposals. The discussions reflect the state's continued efforts to attract global investments and position itself as a leading manufacturing and logistics destination in India.
