High Court Seeks Report on Missing Girl
The Andhra Pradesh High Court has issued significant directions to the state government in connection with the disappearance of Gnaneswari, a minor girl from Kakinada district. During a recent hearing, the court expressed concern over the case and sought a detailed explanation of the efforts undertaken by authorities to trace the missing child.
The High Court directed the government to submit a comprehensive status report outlining all steps taken so far in the investigation. The report is expected to include details of search operations, police actions, and any leads gathered during the course of the probe. The court emphasized the importance of expediting efforts to locate the child and keeping the investigation on track.
In addition, the High Court asked the government to clarify whether officials had followed the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) prescribed for missing children cases. The SOP was formulated based on guidelines issued by the Supreme Court to ensure a prompt and systematic response in such incidents. The court sought specific information on whether these procedures were implemented in Gnaneswari’s case.
The matter remains under close judicial scrutiny, with the High Court stressing accountability and transparency in the investigation. The directions are aimed at ensuring that all available resources are utilized to trace the missing child and provide answers to her family. Further hearings are expected after the government submits its report.
