Ex-MLA Raja Protests at Police Station
Former MLA Jakkampudi Raja staged a protest outside the Rajanagaram Police Station in East Godavari district, alleging police bias in a dispute over alleged illegal soil excavation at Jagananna Colony Layout in Mallampudi village. According to reports, ruling party leaders were carrying out soil excavation activities late at night when former village sarpanch Veera Chakra Dora attempted to stop them, leading to a clash between the two groups.
Police detained the former sarpanch and his son, Jaswanth, and shifted them to the station. Objecting to the action, Jakkampudi Raja alleged that those involved in the alleged illegal excavation were let off while action was taken against those who opposed it. He staged a sit-in protest in front of the police station, demanding fair action against all those responsible. The incident has sparked political tensions in the area.
