Criticism Should Be Policy-Based: Pawan

Pawan Kalyan has stressed that political criticism should be confined to policies, governance, and public issues rather than personal attacks. Responding to recent remarks directed at Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha, he described the comments as objectionable and inconsistent with democratic values.

Pawan Kalyan said that criticism is a vital part of politics, but it must remain constructive and issue-oriented. He expressed concern over comments targeting a woman’s appearance, attire, or personal characteristics, stating that such remarks not only disrespect an individual but also undermine the dignity of women in society. According to him, making derogatory comments about a woman’s dress or appearance amounts to insulting women as a whole.

The Deputy Chief Minister urged political leaders to exercise restraint and responsibility while making public statements. He emphasized that leaders are role models for society and that their words carry significant influence. Therefore, public discourse should reflect respect, maturity, and democratic values.

Pawan further reminded political parties and leaders that every statement made in the public sphere is closely observed by citizens and civil society. He called for healthy political debate centered on governance, development, and public welfare rather than personal criticism, stressing the need to uphold dignity in political discussions.
