CI Nagaraju Sent to 14-Day Remand

A court has remanded suspended CI Nagaraju to 14 days of judicial custody in connection with the Gade Saikrishna case. Following the order, he was shifted to Nellore Jail. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) submitted its remand report, stating that it suspects Saikrishna died while in police custody and that efforts were allegedly made to conceal the death.

According to the SIT, evidence suggests Saikrishna may have died before June 2. Investigators alleged that crucial evidence related to the case was destroyed and scientific evidence was tampered with to hide the circumstances surrounding the death. The SIT also cited statements indicating that Saikrishna’s body was seen inside the police station.

The agency further alleged that attempts were made to mislead the court during the investigation. Stating that more questioning of Nagaraju is required, the SIT sought continued investigation into the case. The allegations are part of the ongoing probe, and the matter remains under judicial consideration.
