Blanket Row Sparks Hostel Outrage
A shocking incident at the SC Girls Hostel in Chintalapudi, Eluru district, has sparked outrage after the hostel warden allegedly expelled an eighth-grade student for asking for a blanket. According to reports, the incident occurred around 10 p.m. when the student, Akshaya, requested a blanket from the warden. Instead of addressing her request, the warden allegedly forced the girl to leave the hostel.
After being informed about the incident, the student's parents rushed to the hostel late at night and took their daughter home. The incident has raised serious concerns about the treatment and safety of students staying in government-run hostels, especially as the girl was reportedly sent out during nighttime.
Parents and local residents have strongly condemned the warden's alleged behaviour, stating that students should be treated with care and dignity rather than being punished for basic needs. They questioned how a minor girl could be asked to leave the hostel at such a late hour over a simple request for a blanket.
The victim's family has appealed to higher authorities to conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident and take strict disciplinary action against the warden if the allegations are found to be true. They also urged the government to strengthen oversight of hostel administration and ensure the safety, welfare, and proper care of students to prevent similar incidents in the future.
