AP Cabinet Clears Key Reforms

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to take stringent action against those spreading false propaganda, character assassination, and objectionable content on social media. During the State Cabinet meeting, he instructed police to establish a special task force and appoint an IG-rank officer to exclusively monitor cybercrime-related offences. He stressed that abusive content targeting women, public representatives, and social harmony would not be tolerated.

The Cabinet also discussed measures to curb fake news and misuse of digital platforms. Minister Nadendla Manohar said Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan had suggested better coordination between the Home and Law departments to strengthen legal action against misinformation. DGP Harish Gupta briefed the Cabinet on emerging cyber challenges.

Briefing the media after the 1389th Cabinet meeting, Information and Public Relations Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy said the Cabinet approved over 30 proposals focused on development and public welfare. These included 10 multi-village drinking water projects worth ₹9,355 crore, a Special NIA Court in Visakhapatnam, a ₹50 crore tourism promotion campaign, and incentives for hotel projects.

The Cabinet also approved three Centres of Excellence for IIT-JEE and NEET coaching, industrial investments, logistics parks, and infrastructure projects. Additionally, it cleared a ₹1,800 crore working capital loan for AP MARKFED and approved loan waivers of up to ₹1.5 lakh for eligible farmers in Amaravati capital region villages.
