Tirupati Additional SP Transferred

The Andhra Pradesh government has transferred Tirupati Crime Additional SP Balachandra Reddy and directed him to report to the Police Headquarters (PHQ) in Mangalagiri. The move comes just days after he was posted as the Crime Additional SP in Tirupati on June 16.

Balachandra Reddy's appointment had sparked political controversy, with several TDP leaders raising objections to his posting. Critics alleged that the officer was perceived to be sympathetic towards the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), leading to questions over his appointment to a key law enforcement position in the district.

Amid the growing political debate, the government issued fresh orders withdrawing him from the Tirupati posting and instructing him to report to the state police headquarters.
