Srilakshmi Gets Final Posting

Senior IAS officer Srilakshmi has been appointed as Special Chief Secretary in the General Administration Department (Administrative Reforms) by the Andhra Pradesh government, ending nearly two years without an official posting. The appointment comes just four days before her scheduled retirement on June 30, making it a notable administrative decision.

Chief Secretary K. Sai Prasad issued the Government Order on Thursday, assigning Srilakshmi to the Administrative Reforms wing. She replaces senior officer Shamsher Singh Rawat, who had been holding additional charge.

A 1988-batch IAS officer, Srilakshmi had earlier served in key positions in the Municipal Administration Department during the previous YSRCP government after being allotted to the Andhra Pradesh cadre following state bifurcation. However, after the change in government in 2024, she remained without a posting.

Srilakshmi was previously named in cases related to the Obulapuram mining allocations and the Central Bureau of Investigation's disproportionate assets case involving former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. She was arrested during the investigation and later released on bail. In February this year, the Supreme Court dismissed her discharge petition seeking removal of her name from the case.

Her appointment has attracted attention in administrative and political circles as it marks her final posting before retirement.
