SBI Backs AP Hospitality Boom
The State Bank of India has announced strong financial support for Andhra Pradesh’s growing hospitality sector, promising competitive interest rates and strategic banking assistance for upcoming hotel projects.
A delegation from the Andhra Pradesh Star Hotels Association, led by President R.V. Swamy, met SBI Chairman Challa Sreenivasulu Setty in New Delhi on Monday to discuss the sector’s expansion and financial challenges.
During the meeting, SBI assured support for nearly 40 new hotel projects planned across Andhra Pradesh, including 18 major developments in the Amaravati Capital Region. The bank also proposed signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ASHA to speed up loan approvals and create a dedicated financing channel for hospitality ventures.
The SBI Chairman also assured flexibility in working capital assistance and debt restructuring, especially for MSME-category hotels facing rising operational costs.
Welcoming the move, R.V. Swamy said SBI’s proactive support would strengthen tourism infrastructure, boost investor confidence, and help the hospitality industry continue generating employment across the state.
