Sai Krishna Lockup Death: Four Accused
Two head constables attached to Krishnalanka Police Station, Ashok and Nani, surrendered before the ACP office at Suryaraopet in connection with the alleged lockup death of rowdy-sheeter Sai Krishna. With their surrender, the total number of accused in the case has risen to four.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing the custodial death and the alleged disappearance of the victim's body, took both officials into custody for questioning. Investigators are examining their role in the incident and gathering further evidence to establish the sequence of events.
Earlier, the police had arrested suspended Circle Inspector Nagaraju, the prime accused in the case, along with Crime Constable Baburao. The arrests came after serious allegations emerged regarding Sai Krishna's death while in police custody and the subsequent handling of his body.
The case has drawn significant public attention, raising concerns over custodial violence and accountability within the police department. The SIT is expected to continue its investigation by questioning all accused, examining forensic and documentary evidence, and recording witness statements. Officials have stated that further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
