New Coastal Security Building Opened in Vizag
Amaravati, May 19, 2026: In a major step toward enhancing maritime security and coastal surveillance, a new Coastal Security Police building was inaugurated in Visakhapatnam by Harish Kumar Gupta, Director General of Police, Andhra Pradesh.
The advanced facility will function as a central hub for coastal monitoring, intelligence gathering, and rapid response operations across the state’s extensive coastline. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Gopinath Jatti and senior Coastal Security Police officials.
During the review meeting, the DGP assessed beach patrolling, rescue operations, village vigilance committees, intelligence units, training programmes, environmental awareness campaigns for olive ridley turtle conservation, anti-drug initiatives, and the induction of APSP platoons. He appreciated the efforts of the Coastal Security Police and assured continued infrastructure and operational support to further strengthen maritime security in Andhra Pradesh.
