Modi Highlights Strong India-France Partnership
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his official visit to France, emphasized that the India-France partnership is crucial for global progress and stronger international cooperation. He received a warm welcome from the Indian diaspora in Paris and praised their role in deepening ties between the two countries.
The visit included engagements in Nice, Evian, and Paris, covering G7 Summit-related discussions and participation in the VivaTech 2026 event. Modi said the trip delivered significant outcomes in technology, innovation, diplomacy, and cultural cooperation.
Addressing the Indian community at Salle Pleyel in Paris, the Prime Minister commended the diaspora for preserving Indian culture and strengthening bilateral relations. At VivaTech 2026, he highlighted India’s rapid advancements in technology, startups, and innovation, stressing that access to technology is essential for inclusive growth.
Modi also held meetings with global business leaders, including Arthur Mensch of Mistral AI, Alstom CEO Martin Sion, Saint-Gobain CEO Benoit Bazin, and CMA CGM Chairman Rodolphe Saadé. Discussions focused on artificial intelligence, infrastructure, logistics, maritime connectivity, and investment opportunities in India.
The Prime Minister expressed condolences on the passing of Buddhist scholar Robert A. F. Thurman and reiterated India’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage. He thanked French President Emmanuel Macron, the French government, and its people for their hospitality, expressing confidence that India-France relations will continue to grow stronger.
