Lokesh Visits Rural Development Trust Hospital

Nara Lokesh on Thursday visited the RDT Hospital in Sri Sathya Sai district and reaffirmed the State government’s commitment to supporting the Rural Development Trust (RDT) and its healthcare services.

RDT, known for its extensive social and medical services in Anantapur region, had faced difficulties after its FCRA licence renewal was withheld in 2021, affecting foreign funding. During his Yuvagalam padayatra, Lokesh had promised to help restore the organisation’s operations. Officials said he later coordinated with the Centre to secure fresh FCRA approval for the trust.

During the visit, Lokesh paid tributes at the samadhi of RDT founder Vincent Ferrer and interacted with Ferrer family members, including Anne Ferrer and Moncho Ferrer. He reviewed hospital facilities and visited the paediatric ward, where he met children undergoing treatment for thalassemia.

The Minister encouraged young patients to remain confident and continue their education while speaking with parents about medical care. Lokesh appreciated the services provided by the hospital and later interacted with staff members. Several ministers and MLAs accompanied him during the programme.
