Lokesh Reviews Education Reforms

Minister for HRD, IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh has directed officials to ensure complete transparency and quality in the recruitment of 1,523 faculty posts across Andhra Pradesh universities. During review meetings on higher education, skill development and school education, he instructed officials to conduct data-driven verification of all 1,89,316 applications received and complete the recruitment process without delay.

Lokesh also reviewed plans for skill universities and stressed stronger industry partnerships to make Andhra Pradesh a national model in skill development. He directed officials to launch the state's skill portal in July and issue online skill cards to registered youth. Officials informed him that over 1.30 lakh jobs had been secured through job fairs, prompting Lokesh to propose quarterly constituency-level job fairs and a State Employment Operating System with a KPI dashboard.

Reviewing school education, Lokesh highlighted the need to improve attendance and learning outcomes. Officials said over 1.06 lakh students had shifted from private to government schools, while 159 schools were upgraded as Model Primary Schools. He also ordered a study of private school fee regulation models adopted by other states.

Lokesh further reviewed infrastructure projects, including Central Libraries in Amaravati and Visakhapatnam, and directed the establishment of AI labs in government ITIs to strengthen technology-based education.
