Lokesh Pushes WhatsApp Governance Drive
Andhra Pradesh HRD, IT, Electronics and RTGS Minister Nara Lokesh on Friday directed officials to accelerate public awareness of the “Mana Mitra” WhatsApp governance platform and ensure faster, technology-driven delivery of government services across the state. Chairing a review meeting at the RTGS Command Control Centre in the Secretariat, he reviewed the progress of key digital governance initiatives.
Lokesh instructed officials to complete the Data Lake project by July, enabling integration of data from multiple government departments into a single platform. He emphasised simplifying the issuance of caste and income certificates and streamlining ration card services, including member additions, deletions, and family splitting.
He also ordered integration of the Sanjeevani healthcare programme with the Data Lake for improved service coordination and directed officials to analyse school dropout trends using consolidated data to implement corrective measures.
The Minister stressed the need for a month-long awareness campaign to ensure every household is informed about the Mana Mitra WhatsApp service. He also proposed strengthening the DG Verify system through Aadhaar-based verification of educational and sports certificates for quicker authentication.
Reviewing the impact of rainfall deficits and power supply challenges, Lokesh directed departments to improve coordination, reduce water wastage, promote low-water crops, and use RTGS-based monitoring systems to ensure efficient water management and uninterrupted electricity supply across Andhra Pradesh.
