JSS AHER To Set Up Campus
The Commissionerate of Higher Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JSS Mahavidyapeetha to establish an off-campus centre of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER) in Tirupati. The agreement was exchanged in the presence of HRD, IT, and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh.
The MoU was signed by Higher Education Commissioner Narayana Bharat Gupta and JSS Mahavidyapeetha’s Director of Technical Education and Pro-Chancellor of JSS AHER, Dr. B. Suresh. Under the agreement, JSS Mahavidyapeetha will immediately begin setting up the Tirupati campus and explore establishing additional institutions across Andhra Pradesh in the future.
Headquartered in Mysuru, JSS AHER is a NAAC A++ accredited deemed university and ranked 21st among universities in the NIRF 2025 rankings. The proposed Tirupati campus will feature five integrated schools covering engineering, advanced technologies, life sciences, biotechnology, healthcare, business, entrepreneurship, law, humanities, and governance.
The campus will offer 74 academic programmes and have the capacity to accommodate more than 10,000 students. It will also establish Centres of Excellence focusing on artificial intelligence in healthcare, semiconductor applications, biotechnology, public policy, entrepreneurship, and aerospace medicine. Officials said the project will significantly enhance higher education, research, innovation, and skill development opportunities in Andhra Pradesh.
