Government Approves Prosecution Against Kodali Nani
The Andhra Pradesh government has granted permission for prosecution proceedings against former minister and YSRCP leader Kodali Nani in connection with a case registered during the 2021 Panchayat elections.
The case relates to alleged remarks made by Kodali Nani against then State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar. Complaints were filed alleging that his statements violated the election Model Code of Conduct and the dignity of the constitutional post.
Following the complaints, Andhra Pradesh Police registered a case at Gudivada Police Station on February 16, 2021. During the investigation, officials reportedly found sufficient evidence in the matter, leading to the government approving prosecution.
The development has drawn political attention in Andhra Pradesh, with discussions intensifying over legal action against leaders linked to the previous government. The case will now move forward through the legal process following the prosecution approval.
