Fresh Allegations Surface Against Suspended CI
A series of fresh allegations has intensified scrutiny on suspended Krishnalanka Circle Inspector Nagaraju, who is already facing investigation in connection with the custodial death of Sai Krishna. The officer was suspended after Sai Krishna’s family alleged that he died due to police actions while in custody, prompting the government to order a high-level inquiry.
The controversy has deepened with the emergence of another case involving Kranthi Kumar, a resident of Krishnalanka, who allegedly died by suicide after consuming pesticide on May 21. Before his death, he reportedly recorded a selfie video accusing CI Nagaraju of subjecting him to harassment and physical torture over the previous three months. Family members claimed he took the extreme step after being repeatedly summoned to the police station.
Further concerns have arisen over the handling of a POCSO-related complaint. A woman had reportedly approached police on April 27 alleging sexual abuse of a six-year-old girl by her husband. Although details were noted, a formal case was not registered initially. Following intervention by a women's organization, an FIR and POCSO case were registered on June 7. However, the accused has not yet been arrested.
The latest allegations have led to growing demands for a comprehensive and impartial investigation into the conduct of the suspended officer.
