Botsa Opposes Convocation Venue

YSRCP leader and Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Opposition Leader Botsa Satyanarayana has urged Governor S. Abdul Nazeer to reconsider the venue for the first convocation of JNTU-Gurajada, Vizianagaram, stating that it should be held in Vizianagaram instead of Visakhapatnam.

In a letter to the Governor, Botsa thanked him for the invitation to attend the university's inaugural convocation but expressed concern over the decision to organise the event at the Andhra University Convention Centre in Visakhapatnam.

He argued that JNTU-Gurajada was established to meet the educational needs of the backward Vizianagaram district and that its first convocation should be conducted in the district where the university is located. Holding the event in Visakhapatnam, he said, has led to disappointment and protests among the people of Vizianagaram.

Botsa stated that organising the convocation outside the district would hurt the sentiments, pride, and aspirations of local residents. He said he was bringing the public's dissatisfaction to the Governor's attention and requested that the decision be reviewed in the interest of the district.

The Opposition leader appealed to the Governor to reconsider the venue and ensure that the university's first convocation is held in Vizianagaram, reflecting the institution's connection with the district and its people.
