60 Devotees Cheated by Agents in Tirumala

Nearly 60 devotees were allegedly cheated by brokers in Tirumala after being promised access to the highly sought-after Suprabhata Seva through fake recommendation letters claimed to be from TTD employees.

According to reports, the agents approached devotees and assured them that they could arrange special entry for the early morning seva. Believing the promises, the devotees transferred ₹6,000 each through PhonePe and other digital payment platforms. In total, the brokers reportedly collected around ₹3.60 lakh from the victims.

After making the payments, the devotees waited for confirmation and entry passes, but the promised arrangements never materialized. Realizing they had been deceived, the victims raised complaints and sought assistance from the authorities.

The incident has once again highlighted the menace of unauthorized brokers operating around Tirumala and exploiting the faith of pilgrims. Despite repeated warnings from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) against dealing with middlemen, many devotees continue to fall prey to such scams in the hope of securing special darshan or seva tickets.

Authorities are expected to investigate the matter and identify those responsible for the fraud. Devotees have been advised to book tickets only through official TTD channels and avoid making payments to unauthorized persons.
