SIT Intensifies Sai Krishna Probe

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has intensified its probe into the alleged custodial death of Gade Sai Krishna in Vijayawada, with fresh findings pointing to the involvement of additional police personnel in the case.

According to investigation sources, the SIT has identified two head constables and a civilian friend of suspended Circle Inspector (CI) Nagaraju for allegedly assisting in the disposal of Sai Krishna's body. The civilian has been identified as Suresh, while the two head constables are Ashok and Jangam Nani.

Officials said both head constables have gone absconding after the arrest of CI Nagaraju. Ashok reportedly served as Nagaraju's assistant, while Jangam Nani allegedly misused the officer's name to carry out illegal activities. Investigators are making efforts to trace and apprehend them.

Police records indicate that Jangam Nani had earlier been suspended while serving at Gannavaram and was later transferred to the reserve line following allegations of irregularities during his posting at Patamata. He was recently posted as a head constable at Krishnalanka Police Station.

The SIT is examining the role of all individuals connected to the case and collecting evidence to establish the sequence of events. Officials said further arrests are likely as the investigation progresses.
